CLOSE ENCOUNTER THOMAS ISSAC
Dr. Thomas Isaac is the Finance Minister of Kerala and a CPI (M) Member of the Legislative Assembly of Kerala.
He became active in politics during his college days and was fully involved in the Students Federation of India (SFI) from 1971. He was elected to Kerala Legislative Assembly representing Mararikulam constituency in 2001. He was the Finance Minister of Kerala during from 2006 through 2011. He is one of the few politicians of Kerala who is highly educated as well as free from any criminal records and imprisonments.
He has also worked as a professor at the Centre for Development Studies, Trivandrum. Many famous articles and books (both in English and Malayalam) have been published by Dr Isaac. His articles were mainly based on Economics, Politics and Planning.
